Stopping new Infections: a quarter for prevention

15:30–17:30

Venue: Conference Room 3

Despite a significant reduction in new infections over the past 15 years, more than 2 million new HIV infections still occur annually—two thirds of them in sub-Saharan Africa. The pace of decline in new infections has slowed in recent years, and in some regions and population groups new infections are rebounding. Everyone has a right to HIV prevention. Fulfilling that right begins with providing people who are at increased risk of HIV infection with access to effective, unhindered HIV prevention services.
